Rochester Needs a Children’s Museum.
Play. Explore. Discover. Imagine. Create. Great things happen at children’s museums, and those great things have long inspired a group of Rochester parents, educators, and businesspeople to follow their dream of establishing a children’s museum in our community.
The vision is simple: the Children’s Museum of Rochester (Minnesota) will inspire and illuminate, entertain and inform, stimulate and educate. Unlike more traditional museums, the Children’s Museum of Rochester will be a lively, family-friendly campus where kids learn through play. Interactive activities and exhibits will be designed specifically to develop kids’ gross and fine motor skills and to enhance children’s creativity, curiosity, and unique learning styles. Our goal is to stimulate learning through hands-on experiences.

We've had a wonderful year of raising awareness within the community, engaging community partners and laying the necessary foundation that will bring a first class children's museum to the greater Rochester area. First and most importantly we want to thank the families in our community who have expressed support and confirmation of the important role a children's museum will play in the lives of area children. We are very grateful to have received broad-based support from our community (individuals, families, media and corporate) partners.
Stay tuned to our website as we'll have some exciting news in the first part of 2010 with announcements concerning community partnerships. The partnerships will help with exhibits and fundraising. In 2010, we will officially be launching our Capital Campaign. The campaign will pull together the final pieces, allowing us to open the doors and make the Children's Museum of Rochester a reality.
